The splitter is very awkward to operate. Constant adjustment is required. I have simply stopped using it.

This product is rubbish. It states it splits logs up to 20" when what it should say is it ONLY splits logs 20" Long. Standard logs for British log burners are 8-10" long & this splitter cannot split anything shorter than around 14" & even then only the ends. It has NO rachet, so once you've pressed it once that's it, even with longer logs. With 19-20" logs you then have to move the head down by moving a pin held in with a split pin. It should clearly say in the advert that it cannot split standard logs all British log burners use. When I complained they offered a refund, but only if spend a fortune myself returning it. This is clearly being mis-sold as it should clearly say it cannot split standard length logs used in British log burners. Rubbish product. Don't waste your money. Look for a splitter with a rachet that splits all sizes of logs.

Tried this and it does not have enough leverage to split even a small log.
